This page explains which cookies and similar technologies this website uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.

We set nothing until you agree

When you first visit this website, no analytics or tracking cookies are placed on your device. The banner you see on arrival asks whether you are happy to accept cookies. Nothing that identifies or tracks you is loaded unless you choose “Accept Cookies”.

If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set.

Remembering your choice

Your answer to the cookie banner is stored in your browser’s local storage under the name cookie-consent. Local storage is not a cookie: it stays on your own device, it is never sent to our servers, and it is not shared with anyone else. We use it only so that the banner does not ask you the same question on every page.

Cookies we use

Strictly necessary

Our contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the form is being submitted by a person rather than an automated script. Turnstile may set short-lived cookies from challenges.cloudflare.com while it carries out that check.

These cookies exist purely for security and spam prevention, they do not track you from one website to another, and the contact form cannot work reliably without them. They are set only on the contact page, and only when you use the form.

Analytics

If you accept cookies, we load Google Tag Manager, which in turn loads Google Analytics. This tells us things such as how many people visit the site, which pages are most popular, and broadly where visitors come from. We use it to understand what is useful on the site and what is not.

Google Analytics usually sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by a container identifier. These distinguish one visitor from another. They do not tell us your name, your address, or anything else that identifies you personally, and we do not use them for advertising.

Changing your mind

If you accepted cookies and would rather you had not, you can clear this site’s data through your browser settings. That removes both the stored consent choice and any analytics cookies, and the banner will ask you again on your next visit.

Every major browser also lets you block or delete cookies for all websites. Doing so will not stop this website from working, although it may prevent the contact form’s spam check from completing. Guidance is available in each browser’s own help pages.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time, for instance if we add or remove a service that uses cookies. Any changes will appear here.
